Proceed to Party

You might be a redneck...if you can guess which song inspired my card. lol

My baby brother turned the big 5-0. Wow, life sure does fly! I still think of him as the chubby little toddler with the shaved head in the films from our childhood. I made this card to celebrate the momentous occasion. I used the song Red Solo Cup as my inspiration-the sentiment is from the chorus. I think it's perfect for this week's CAS-ual Friday's challenge to create a project based on a song. Why don't you proceed to follow this link - CAS-ual Fridays - and join in the fun!

If you'd like to listen to this totally inappropriate party song, here you go-

Red Solo Cup by Toby Keith

I've been asked by a couple of people for the stamp I used for these cups. There is no stamp. I googled images of Solo cups, found a white one, downloaded it and used PSE to size it. (You could do the same thing in a Word doc) Then I just copied and pasted several in my document, printed, colored and cut them out. Here is the image I used-

DYSU Challenge 65 - Sew It

Stitching is a popular paper crafting technique. Faux or real, stitching can add just the right finishing touch to a project. So hop on over to DYSU and join us in the stitching challenge. I can't wait to see what you create!

This week we have three sponsors:

$10 Gift Voucher

$15 Gift Certificate

Winner's Choice of 4 Images

I used a PTI umbrella die and stamp to create my umbrella from felt. I stamped the umbrella image on the cut felt then stitched over the stamped image.

The Bold and the Beautiful

Use pastels with black to create a CAS project - that is the challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays this week. Black with light colors really gives a pop to  creations. I used the Leaping Dolphins digital stamp from Stitchy Bear to make my card. I decided to go without a sentiment and make it an all porpoise card. lol

Hop on over to CAS-ual Fridays for some Bold and Beautiful inspiration.

DYSU Challenge 63 - Plaid

Hi everyone! Sorry to be so late with this post. I've been down for the count this week and haven't been up to much other than surviving. This week's challenge over at Do You Stack Up is to use plaid in your creation.

Winner's Choice of 3 Digital Images

Winner's Choice of 4 Digital Images

A "Toodle Club Membership" and a Toodle Birthday Calendar

When I think of plaid, I think of masculine. What a great opportunity to create a masculine card, something I can always use more of. I got to use this amazing pre-colored Steampunk Owl digital image by Pink Gem Designs for my card. I love him! The inside of the card says "Get It In Gear and Celebrate!".

Hop on over to DYSU, see what the talented Design Team has created to inspire you, and link us up to your plaid creation. I can't wait to see your creations!

DYSU challenge #63 - Use Your Favorite Color

This week's Do You Stack Up challenge should be fun for everyone. Who doesn't love using their favorite color?

This week we have three sponsors:

Winner's Choice of 3 Digis
$10 gift certificate

I can't say that I actually have an all time favorite color. I love the use of color-almost every color, in fact. I do tend to favor greens and blues though, so I went with that for this week's challenge. I used this fun Karen's Doodles "Time To Relax" image for my card. What a fun image for a masculine card! Hop on over to DYSU to see what the talented Design Team has created with their favorite color.

I Love You Yeah, Yeah, Yeah

I've had this eye chart in my digi files for quite a while and thought it would be perfect for this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to use a sentiment as a focal point. I found it here- http://www.she-wears-flowers.com/2010/07/caught-my-eye.html

My husband is a Beatles fan and has passed that love on to our daughter, if the big Abbey Road poster on her wall is an indicator. lol I'm sure this will make it's way into one of their hands.

I forgot to post this earlier this week but am managing to get it in at the last minute. Hop on over to CAS-ual Fridays to see some wonderful creations featuring sentiments.

Neutrals

I enjoy working with neutrals. They are rich, warm and relaxing. The color challenge over at Less Is More this week is neutrals, making it a fun challenge for me.

I just want to say the I did try to use 2 different types of sheet music, stamped and embossed, for the aperture of this card. The scale of what I had in my supplies was off to my eye, so I went with this script paper instead. Maybe it doesn't make as much sense, but I do like how it looks. And...the sentiment might be too far off to the right, but I just love it tucked in the curve of the violin. lol Why do I feel the need to make excuses for my card?? lol I'm happy with it despite my own criticisms.

Hop on over to Less Is More and join in the fun of creating with some lovely neutrals.

Ooh Baby Baby!

I haven't had many needs for making baby cards since I began card making. I'm kind of at that in-between place in life where most of our friends have teens or college students. However, I do have a friend whose daughter is pregnant with her first child. So I am able to participate in this week's CAS-ual Fridays challenge to create a CAS baby project. Truthfully, I probably would have played anyway and just saved the card for future use, but it is nice to have someone in mind when making a card. lol

I used this Mo Manning cherub image for my card. How adorable is this little angel?!? The inside of the card says "On the arrival of your new little cherub".

Swing on over to CAS-ual Fridays and play along!
