DYSU challenge #39-Swirls

I am drooling over this yummy inspiration picture! (The pic is beautiful but the drooling part might have something to do with being back on Weight Watchers).

I won a guest designer spot at the DYSU challenge blog last month and "Swirls" was the theme. I also received this darling digital Stitchy Bear image to use- Summer Fun Silouette 3 . I had so much fun with both the theme and the image.

The Sponsors for this week's challenge are-

In case you're wondering why I have all this info on my blog, it's because I am now a part of the DYSU Design Team! Woo hoo! I am so excited to join the team! Thanks to Alison, Heather and all the Design Team for giving me such a warm welcome. It's going to be fun.

Little Things

One last CAS card for the Less is More 1000 submission Anything CAS Goes challenge. I used an older Technique Tuesday stamp for the vase and flowers and a PTI stamp for the sentiment. Here's the link to the challenge-

Owl Duo

I made this card for the DYSU "Duo" challenge. I've had the idea of using my wood grain embossing plate with this Unity stamp set for a while. I embossed the brown background paper as well as the kraft to make it seem like they were sitting inside the tree instead of there just being a hole in the tree. I might remake this card for Valentine's Day with a different sentiment, and draw a carved heart with initials on the "tree".

Here's a link to the challenge if you have a "duo" idea-

I think I'll enter this in the Less is More Anything Goes challenge too. They are almost to 600 entries! Wow!

"Winning"

The kids have picked up this phrase. I'm pretty sure they got it from a Charlie Sheen rant they saw on You Tube. Sigh...

It does seem an appropriate title for my blog title however, as the cute image I used on this card was a prize I won from a DYSU blog challenge. I was able to chose 2 images from Alison at Stretch N' Bubbles Shop. This was the first one I chose. I'll be using the other one soon and will post it when I do. Thank you Alison! I love your shop!

Shine On!

Another card for my bling loving daughter. That girl loves all things sparkly-so not like me. She is ALWAYS raiding my bling storage. If a card for her isn't blinged up, she's not impressed. lol

The lamps are Unity stamps. So cute. The glossy accents on the shades didn't photograph well but they look good IRL. I'm not so sure this is CAS enough for the Less is More challenge but I'll give it a shot. Here's the link if you'd like to join in.

Those darned mini cards are addicting! I decided to make a few Halloween mini cards for the kids to hand out to their friends. I'm entering them individually in the Less Is More Anything CAS goes challenge to help in their quest for 1000 posts. So instead of one post there will be five. lol The first 2 are A2 size.

'tis the Season

I wanted to try the stamping with paint technique for the Make It Monday challenge at PTI. I had tried this before when I was new to stamping and I wasted a lot of paper for nothing. lol My daughter the artist is always raiding my craft supplies. All I could find was silver paint, not a color I work with often. I chose the snowflakes from the PTI Friendship Jar Holiday set and stamped a row across a scrap of cardstock. It worked! I used the paint to color in the candy canes from the same set. Inks and Copics are easier, but it was fun to try something new.

Here's the PTI challenge if you'd like to try this technique.

I'd also like to enter this in the "Silver" DYSU challenge. Never in my wildest dreams did I think I'd have 2 entries for a silver challenge. lol

Wild Thing

Sorry for all the black, white and red cards. I know I've had several posts today using these colors. I need to hide those colors of paper from myself for a while. lol

I found this adorable digital zebra image at Delicious Doodles. http://deliciousdoodles.blogspot.com/search/label/zebra Oh does my daughter love zebras! She has zebra striped rugs, pillows, blankets clothes, purses and more. I'd say it's an improvement over all the Hannah Montana paraphernalia of just a couple of years ago. I seem to make a lot of cards for her but she loves getting them and saves them. What more could a card maker ask for?

This is my 3rd entry in the Less Is More, Anything Goes challenge. They're on a quest to reach 1000 submissions. Come on over and play!

Mini Cards

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays this week is mini cards no larger than 4x4. Mini cards are so quick and fun to make! I don't make them often enough. Once I got started I just wanted to keep going. lol All of my minis are 4x4. Here's the link. Go check out some of the cute mini cards everyone over there has created-they're fabulous!

I'd also like to enter the You're Fangtastic and the Apple of My Eye cards in the Less Is More challenge. This week their challenge is Anything Goes-anything clean and simple. They are trying to reach 1000 submissions. I'm going to try and do my part to help. lol Here's the link. If you're planning to do any clean and simple cards this week, link them up!

Love Birds

The challenge over at DYSU this week is "Silver". I don't usually work with silvers, golds or other metallisc for some reason, so this was a good challenge for me. I embossed the bird cage with silver embossing powder on black paper  just to see what it would look like and ended up loving it! What a fun challenge this turned out to be. Here's the link if you'd like to give it a try-

Happy Birthday Sistah!

My mom has a cousin who just happens to be a nun and I fell in love with this dancing nuns digital stamp by Mo Manning. I made this card for mom to give to her cousin who has a great sense of humor. I know she will get a chuckle out of it. I will probably make another one just like it for my own sistah. She will crack up because we spent the first 9 years of our school years being educated by nuns. lol

I'm entering it in Mo's DP2 Challenge Blog, challenge 100, Celebrate. If you aren't familiar with her digital stamps...you ought to be. They rock!! Here's a link to the challenge.

Footnotes

Sneakers, Converse All-Stars, footnotes. OK, I'm cracking myself up again. One of my daughter's favorite lines to me is "Mom, you're not as funny as you think" so I might just be the only one chuckling. Maybe I'm just easily entertained. lol

The challenge at Less Is More this week is One Layer, Seeing Double. I bought this Little Musings digital stamp just for my daughter since she owns about 10 pairs of this style sneaker. I used the image twice and tried to place them as I see them on the floor by the back door where she leaves multiple pairs until I get on her to put them in her closet. I colored the images with copics, added my footnotes, some punched stars, glossy accents and called it good.

Here's the link to the fun challenge at LIM-

If I only had a brain...

My lovely son gave me his awful cold/flu and I have been weak and feeble for the past few days. I'm glad that we are both feeling much better today with just the lingering stuffiness and coughs. Still low on energy so I decided to combine a couple of challenges today.

The challenge at Do You Stack Up is to use texture on your creation-

Do You Stack Up

The challenge at CAS-ual Fridays is paper piecing with a fall theme-

CAS-ual Fridays

I printed the digital stamp twice on canvas then once on smooth card stock. Then I used a mixture of the two for the piecing along with some twine for straw. I think this will make a fun belated birthday card or note of apology. I've left the inside blank until I decide. Fall is my favorite season. It's nice to see glimpses of it outside and in my crafting.

Hoppy Day!

The Papertrey Ink Make It Monday challenge is Creating Backgrounds with Non-Background Stamps.  I used the frog from the Tiny Treats, Valentine set for my background along with the Boy Basics, Frog Hop images and sentiment.

Here's a link to the challenge if you'd like to play along or get some new ideas-

Boo!

Friendly Critters is the challenge over at the Do You Stack Up site this week. I made this Halloween card for my niece. She loves cats but her mom is very allergic so I thought she might like this cute kitty image. Here's the link to the challenge if you'd like to play-

http://doyoustackup.blogspot.com/2011/09/dysu-challenge-35-friendly-critters.html

Here are a couple other critter cards I made today. Both very quick and easy. The St Bernard card was a pre-colored digital image. I made a set of 8 for a friend of mine who raises and shows Saints. The other one is for my MIL who loves humming birds.

Happy Birthday

The Less is More challenge this week is metallic. I used copper colored foil papers and metallic embossing powder for the sentiment. I had a heck of a time getting a reasonable pic. I've had the foil paper pack for a couple of years. I've used all the red, green, gold and silver for Christmas projects and  was glad to be inspired to use this yummy color. Very fun challenge. Here's the link if you'd like to give it a go.

You Color My World

The challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays this week is to create a project inspired by a book and use the colors black, white and red. When my son was born I received 3 copies of the Robert Munsch book, Love You Forever. Of course as a first time parent I had never heard of this book. I still can't read that book without crying. For many years, I had both my kids believing that I went in their rooms and sang that song to them when they were sleeping. lol I treasure the message of the powerful lifelong love between a parent and child.

Here's a link to the challenge-
