From Owl Of Us

Love this Pink Cat Studio digi stamp! I decided to use it for this week's sketch challenge at CAS-ual Fridays. It's a fun and easy sketch and there are some amazing cards this week over there. Hop on over and play!

New Home

A lovely sketch is the challenge over at Less Is More this week. A momentous week for Chrissie and Mandi-number 52! Congrats and thank you for the amazing inspiration, tutorials and support. You guys are the best! I am so happy that I stumbled across Less Is More. I hope I continue to grow in my card making skills with the help of your blogs!

I just had to use a new (to me) PTI stamp this week and thought the tall house might be similar enough in shape and space to represent the band of the sketch. My husband is almost done with the house he is remodeling and this card will be for the new owners.

DYSU Challenge 56, Ribbon

Hey everyone!

Welcome to a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?! This week is all about RIBBONS!!    We all have yards and yards of those yummy things in our stash.  So let’s take them out and give them some good use.

For this week we have four great sponsors:

Crafty Sentiments
 Winner's choice of 4 images

The StampingBoutique
 Winner's choice of 5 images

Dearie Dolls
 Winner's choice of 4 images

I used this cute Dearie Dolls digital stamp to make a Valentine's Day card. My lovely daughter gave me the heart edged Nestie set for Christmas and it is just perfect for Valentine's projects. I just tied a bow of blue satin ribbon from my stash. A pretty simple use of ribbon. Hop on over to the Do You Stack Up blog to see some amazing ribbon creations from the design team and get inspired!

    Birds On A Wire

I decided to make another black and white card for the CAS-ual Fridays penguin suit challenge. It's such a fun combo! If you haven't checked out the lovely cards created for this challenge you're really missing out!

    Shift Happens

I decided to try a Nestie technique that Chrissie showcased over at the Less Is More blog this week. The challenge was to create a card with an aperture or some kind of hole. I used her technique to cut the moon around the wolf for my card. Very fun technique, thanks Chrissie! Hop on over to Less Is More and give it shot!

My daughter is definitely of the Team Jacob persuasion and this wolf stamp is the closest thing to a werewolf that I have. I applied glossy accents with a brush to give a more hair like texture-it doesn't show up at all in the picture though. I was cracking myself up with the sentiment, but it's probably not really appropriate for a 14 year old. Fortunately, I know a few adult Jacob fans. lol

    Penguin Awareness Day

Who knew penguins had their very own awareness day? Someone over at CAS-ual Fridays did, and that is the inspiration for this weeks challenge.  Create a CAS card using only black and white-NO hint of color. I have to admit I love working with black and white. The contrast allows for some amazing cards as you can see for yourself by hopping over to CAS-ual Fridays.

I used a couple of MFT dies and some white embossing for my card.

    DYSU Challenge 55, Patterned Paper

    Hi everyone!
Welcome to a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?!
This week we want to see PATTERNS!!
Whether you use patterned design paper or create your own,
we want to see your colorful creations.

    Our Sponsors

    Copic Marker Scrapbooking

6 Copic Ciao Markers (North/South America)

Martha Stewart punch (rest of the world)

    My Little Shoebox

    Surprise Goodie Bag

I used the Audrey line from My Little Shoebox to create a layout and a card. The colors and patterns of this line are perfect for all those feminine projects. The rolled flowers are cardstock punch outs from the collection-how cool is that? All the coordinating papers, stickers, alphas and punch outs from this line made these projects come together so easily.

For my layout, I used some funny pictures of my daughter wearing a blonde wig when she was little. Do you think this should have given me a hint of the desire for blue hair 12 years later? lol

The card was made with scraps from the layout and cardstock shapes.

    Extra! Extra!

A challenge to use a Mo Manning image for a CAS card. That's right up my alley! I loved this image the first time I saw it. I think it's so darned cute and can be used for many different occasions. That versatility makes buying a stamp a no-brainer.

Hop on over to the DP2 Challenge and take a look at all the awesome CAS cards that have been created with Mo Manning images.

    Happy Happy Birthday

CAS-ual Fridays challenge this week is to use scallops on a card. I needed a birthday card for a boy and REALLY wanted to use this adorable Stamp and Create stamp too. Nothing fancy, old standby layout but how can you go wrong with this cute puppy? I'm posting late this week but head on over to CAS-ual Fridays to see all the fun scalloped creations.

    For the Birds

The challenge over at Less Is More this week is to make a one layer card with birds as the subject. There are MANY lovely cards over there this week. Hop on over, get some inspiration and give it a go. I know most of us have birds of some sort in our card making arsenal. lol

I went with this Hope Jacare digital stamp. Love this whimsical hen with attitude! I just wish I was better at drawing lines-I always have trouble at the corners. Sigh...

Hi everyone. This week we are having a "Pink" challenge at Do You Stack Up?!. So think pink and come on over and play!

    The Stamps of Life

Winner's choice of 2 stamps sets

I was provided with the awesome friends4ever stamp set by the Stamps of Life for my projects this week. I used one of the sentiments along with the leaves for this card.

I used the leaves stamp again for my layout. I really like the versatility of this image. It's scaled to work perfectly for both cards and layouts.

The patterned papers are all from My Little Shoebox, Audrey collection. Yummy!

    Summer Fun

I love the pictures on this LO. They were taken by the rafting company and really capture the fun my husband and daughter were having. My son was also on the raft...hiding behind everyone. It was not his kind of adventure, but he was a sport about it.

This LO was done for the Scrap Whispers game and the big reveal for this round was today. Happily, the team I was on was the winning team this time. I'm just glad I didn't have to choose as there were so many fantastic LOs from all the teams. Way to go everyone and congrats to my fellow teammates. Hop on over and check out how the game is played. It's a lot of fun and there are also challenges offered while the main game is being played.

    Pincredible!

I think this card will be received with a roll of the eyes. As I've mentioned before, my daughter loves to tell me I'm not as funny as I think. And yet...I persist in trying to get a chuckle, a grin or even a laugh out of her. I think this strategy will only work if money is involved. lol

The challenge over at CAS-ual Fridays is to use chipboard. I LOVE chipboard and hoard it like crazy. Especially the small scale pieces that work for cards. I broke out Maya Road rolling pin chipboard for this card. I colored them with markers and added Glossy accents to the pins. Lined them up on the inside of the card and used a Nestie to cut out the window.

Hop on over to CAS-ual Fridays and play along with the chipboard challenge-I guarantee you won't be "board".  (Maybe my daughter is right)

    the inside-

    Purple?!?

I do believe the only time I work with purple is when it's a requirement for a challenge. Not. kidding. I love seeing purple creations...by others. I don't dislike purple, I just have a heck of a time working with it. I know I'm not alone in this.

Of course, since you are seeing a purple card on my blog, you must have figured out that there is a purple challenge that I'm playing in. Thank goodness the Predominantly Purple challenge is over at Less Is More. CAS meant I wouldn't waste too much time searching for purple supplies that I just don't have. The less time I spend working with purple the more happy I am. Maybe if I had some of that yummy SU Razzleberry paper I might have been more inspired! lol

If you love working with purple or, like me, want to really challenge yourself by working with it, head on over to Less Is More and play along!

DYSU Challenge 53, Let It Snow

Hey everyone! Welcome to a new challenge at Do You Stack Up?! This week we want to LET IT SNOW!!  So grab a cup of your favorite hot drink and join us in the fun of creating some snowy fun project.

    This week’s sponsors are:

I used some liquid pearls to add a bit of snow to this Mo Manning digital image.

The snow is more obvious on this card. lol

    What's Cooking?

I am really loving this fun image by Hope Jacare. I was still in "rainbow" mode from the DYSU challenge this week and decided to go with bright and vivid.

I'm entering this in the One Stitch At A Time Challenge to use a digi. Isn't it amazing the variety of digital stamps that are available? Choices were so limited just a couple of years ago and now there are digi stamps to suit any style of crafting! I love my huge physical stamp collection, but you can't beat a digi for flexibility.

    OMG

The challenge over at Less Is More, Just One Word, is to use a one word sentiment on a CAS card. I'm not sure if OMG is officially even a word but it seemed too perfect to pass up for this stamp. So...my disqualification will be understood. lol

I flew to Las Vegas to meet my husband for a couple of days before Christmas. We had a quick, fun, child free mini vacation and returned home for a lovely Christmas Eve family celebration. One of the places I wanted to see while in Vegas was this shop-

Wow! They have thousands of rubber stamps! Most of which I had never seen. My dear husband waited patiently as I took it all in. I picked up a couple of stamps and would have bought more if those darned slot machines hadn't been so prevalent. lol

Anyway, this funny little girl made her way to my scrap room. This is a belated birthday card. I make so many cards you wouldn't think I'd need it, but sometimes I'm so busy making cards, I forget to send them.

Hop on over to Less Is More and play along!
